Re: prop

My guess would be to start with a 17" and test. Depending on your set up and brand/style prop that should tell you which way to go.

Good luck!

Re: prop

ok thanks---i have some more info on this---the prop on the motor is a 14 1/2x19 it seams to max out at around 4200rpm i would think i should get around 5500rpm. do you think the 17 would do this.

Re: prop

A 17" will only get you about another 400 RPM's. Still way too low. Is the engine running at peak and are you sure your tach is correct?? What kind of speed are you getting with the current set-up?

Re: prop

Topping out at 33mph. This is a rebuilt engine and I just started to use the right oil mix. I have been using a double oil mix for the first ten hours. Thier might still be some extra oil in the gas.
