Does anyone know why there is a cone at the end of some Force propellers? Does it actually do anything?

Re: Propeller Cone

The cone is held on by a cotter pin. This cone holds a drive pin in place for the propeller I believe so it cant move forward or backwards. At first I thought this was a shear pin but it is not.

Re: Propeller Cone

On the bigger motors, I think it's more cosmetic than functional. It might help a tiny bit with hydrodynamics, but I doubt it'd make any noticable difference if it was on or off. On the smaller ones...what eurolarva said. On Johnnyrudes the pin is a shear pin and the shaft is round. On the Chryslers, the shaft is splined and the pin just holds it on the shaft and the cone keeps it there.
