Could you describe your boat? A 60 hp can do OK on a smaller boat.

Hi it is a thundercraft 16 feet fiberglass. somebody toll me that the propeller does a big difference. That I have to buy a propeller special for skiing.

It depends on what type of skiing. If beginning on two skis, no problem.

What size(pitch) propeller do you have on there now? I am guessing a 17" pitch.

A picture of the boat would be worth a thousand words.

Does your boat have a tachometer to read the motor rpm's.

While it probably performs all right with the 17" prop, I would get a 15" pitch to use for water sports.

That will give much better pulling power for skiing, and still give a top speed of about 30 MPH.

Since that motor can go to 6000 rpm, I doubt that there will any danger of over speeding the motor even when not pulling a skier.
