propeller pitch

Finally bought the engine for my pro team 175-yamaha 4 stroke 60 hp (nothing against american made motors, Captain U: reasons concerning dealer support. And DF 70 much too heavy, J.B. ....)<br />Can anyone suggest an adequate propeller pitch, which will perhaps be more or less identical to that of the factory installed merc 60 hp, which is...?<br />Thanks for any help and some of the best technical answers in ages.

Howdy, Alenetejano.<br /><br />I'd start with a 17 and see what happens. If you can get to, but not above the max rpm with a light load that fits. If she wont get all the way up there (6000rpm) drop down to a 16.<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB
