Propeller Question Mercruiser

Hello all,

I am new to this and thought maybe someone could help me out here....

I am in need of a new prop for my 3.0L Alpha One drive.
The prop that I currently have is Part Number 48-78120-19

I found a prop that has part number 48-78120AQ40. They guy said it was from a 4.3L Alpha Drive. He didnt say what kind of Alpha Drive.

Will that prop work for my drive? If anyone can point me in to the right direction that would be great. Thanks!

Welcome t iboats.....
It will fit, but I think the pitch would be wrong....
Since you have the part #'s, you could probaly look it up on Bammarine or Doug Russell.....
I'm sure you will get the answer you are looking for in the 'Prop topic' forum...

Oops, I forgot to mention that the one I am buying is a 19 pitch. So it is the same pitch as my old one. Or is there something else in the part number that I am missing?

Your current prop and the one you are looking at buying are both 14x19 props and are made for Alpha's so they should fit with no problem and give you the same performance as you had before.

There's also two people selling a pair of those props each on ebay with a really low price right now. Don't know how high the price will jump at the end of the auction, but it's worth a looksee.

On another note, there is a prop forum here on this website. If you ask the question there, you'll get answers from someone who knows a lot more about props than myself.

I know how many $$$'s, I bought one of them. That makes me four to do some messing & experimenting with when the weather finally breaks.
