I have a 1976, 6hp Evinrude. It runs good and is fairly quick pushing a 12ft flatbottom, alluminum jon boat.
However, I'd like for it to go a bit faster and plane out a bit better.
I was looking at the BRP site and noticed that the 6hp of different years specify different props.
Mine has a 3 blade prop which I assume is part # 387334 (8 X 7).
The diagram also offers a 2 blade option # 386587 (8.25 X 5)
1972 - shows a 8 X 7.5, 2 blade. 1978 shows a 8.25 X 5, 3 blade
Are there any suggestions for which prop will speed me up ?
I don't want to loose power though. I usually haul 2 adults and a child (300 lbs) and maybe another 50 - 60 lbs of equipment.
