I have a Johnson 25hp and I have removed the propeller and I want to replace the oil seals but I am having difficulty trying to remove the casing, I have removed the two bolts and I attached two long eye bolts to through the two threaded holes on the cross members and attached a bearing puller but the pressure started to straighten one of the eye bolts, has anyone any advice please.

If the issue is apparent leaking, smell the stuff to see if it's gas or gear oil. Gear oil has a sulphur smell. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

This motor seemed fine as I have only run it a couple of times in water out my back garden but the last time my noticed when we took the bin away a sludge coming from the propeller, so I assume one or more of the oil seals are gone, am I right or can you think of anything else??, the advice is much appreciated.

Your best plan is too pressure test the lower unit seals.-----Test running a motor in a bucket often results in sludge leaking around the prop.

99% chance you are looking at the oil that you put in the gas, which has gone through the engine and done it's job, then mixed with expelled cooling water and gone out with the thru-hub exhaust. Absolutely normal, and does NOT indicate a seal leak. Stop worrying and don't be trying to fix something that is not broken. Get it out of that barrel and on a boat on the lake where it was built to be run and it will be much cleaner.

Thanks very much, I am quite new to this as you can probably imagine and when you see something coming out from around this area you tend to think something's wrong. Cheers
