I have a 1980, 20 hp, Mercury outboard, and I have to change the propeller shaft seals. Can someone give me an ideal as to the procedure for doing this job. Thanks
Are you sure you have bad seals? Sometimes unburnt fuel/oil will drip out of the prop.<br />Do you have water in there ?<br />If they are definately bad, the procedure involves using some special tools and is best done by a pro.<br />A workshop manual will take you through the steps.
