Proper Engine Mount to Transom

Friends,

I have a 14 ft jon boat (2005) with a 25 2 stroke outboard, what do you think would be the proper height for the cavitation plate to be on the transom so I can get maximum usage (and ride)???

Level with teh keel, 1 inch above the keel, what do you think????

1 inch above the keel, as long as you have good water flow. also working the the trim angle to the transom will help. closer in it pushes bow down, farther out, it push bow up.
