Could any one give any info on which prop size theyd recommend? Rite now I have a 24 pitch 4 blade stainless steel prop on a 3.7 mercruiser 20 footer larson. Which size do you recommend?
Thanks...

Re: Proper prop size

Sounds way too high on pitch but like Bondo said what performance issues are you having and are you hitting the recommended RPMs at WOT. iBoats only list 2 props for that size motor in the 24 pitch variety.

Re: Proper prop size

Ive yet to try this combo as of yet. Ill be putting her in the water here in a few though. I just thought Id check and see If this was too high of a pitch before I tried her out. Thanks for the info though...Before I was running a 19 pitch prop and it ran just fine. You see I have alot of automobile experience, so this boating stuff is really new to me. I was kinda thinking, If I used a higher pitch prop, that the better hole shot I could get with her...

Ayuh,... Going to a Higher pitch, Ruins Hole shot,+ lowers rpms...
You'll be lugging the motor with a 24" if it ran Fine with the 19"...
Better hole shot will come with a 17", but you might Over-rev...
