I recently purchased a Solas 4 Blade Aluminum 14.25x19 from Iboats for my 1986 alpha one. I tried installing the new prop and it is too long it will not pass the (trim tab) anode If I take the thrust washer off I have no problems. Does the washer need to be there with the new prop or should I send the prop back? The other prop is a 3 Blade 14.25x19. My current thrust washer #is 77987

Re: Proper prop

You definitely need the thrust washer, that's what keeps the propeller from eating into the lower unit. You can change out the trim tab to one of the shorter ones too, that might work.
