I would like to know the best prop to use for a 1975 Johnson 85 hp on a invder 15 ft boat to get the best performance

If you read the stickies at the top of the page and the helps on the prop store page it will help you understand prop selection better.
If you have a prop the size is in the barrel or under the prop nut.If you do a couple of test runs and get us the max rpm and speed we can tell better how your setup is working and make a prop suggestion if indicated. If you have no prop a 17" is a good start.

I had a similar setup and used a 17SST, if that boat is real light, you might get by with a 19P.
