Re: Propper Props???

either you tach is wrong, and you are over reving, and you just need a 19 or 21 pitch prop, or your boat is way too heavy, or your motor does not have the power it should.

I have a 70 hp rude on a 16 ft runabout, and it has a 15 pitch. That comes close to over reving my engine, and i can go 26 with that prop.

a 140 should go from 0 to 30 in 2 seconds with a 15 pitch on it.

One simple thing to do is check for wet foam in the floor. Drill a test hole, or try to get easy access to see if it is dry or not.

you have have 500 lbs of water in there.

Re: Propper Props???

As I promised I would re-post after i figured out the problems..
You guys are pretty good, I have to say that after I asked the prop question just about everyone asked about link and sync or electrical. Well it was electrical. two things. The wrong plugs with a smashed electrode so It was running on 3 cylinders and the tach was very old. I replaced it with a factory 3" universal now I get MAX RPMS at WOT and the boat planes great and will run 43mph off the GPS for speed. After a rough start I have to say this forum does help.
Thanks everyone for your input.
