You know, it's hard to believe these drives were MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. There's better stuff coming out of China these days

I've used a mercruiser drive that a friend has, I've also been on a boat with 2 duo prop volvos. The volvos were very smooth and nice, the mercruiser was kind of clunky compared to my OMC cobra. As someone else said, OMC did't go out of business because of bad product, it was the financial end. And bad diagnosis of the cable vs dog clutch thing
