Re: PT&T Question

Ahhh UV damage is why everyone "does something" to them!!! That explains that! I was actually wondering....
*noted*

Thanks for that little tidbit merc850! I have some looming I may put on mine.

Re: PT&T Question

OK so I got this sucker working, but I need to replace one seal in one of the rams, and the hoses are sweating for sure. I've checked around and they're still available, to the tune of about $320.00CAD!! Does anyone have any tips for less costly alternatives? Seems the fittings these use are quite uncommon??

So yesterday, I never saw what you did for the repair of the one ram. Did you do anything to fix it or just go with it as is?

Well it probably would have been an easy fix because they're not difficult (usually) to re-do the seals in, but in the interim I bought another O/B junker with a full PT&T kit and I used it's. (The garage is beginning to reselble a boneyard of dead 850's!! LOL)
The holes in the top of mine for a cam wrench, to be able to take it apart, appear to have been well torn up, probably by someone else having tried to disassemble it in the past. I kept it and some day I will take a run at stripping it, but for now, using an on-hand good was was just easier & quicker!

Re: PT&T Question

Ok. My garage may end up looking the same way if I'm not careful. There is another question that I'm still unclear on. Will the setup for an 850 match my 650. It looks like it will but I have not taken any measurements yet.

To be honest Im not %100 certain. I know that the swivel main mount for the 850 does not evel come close to the one on the 402. 650 should be much closer in size but im not %100 certain. If you need any measurements, I happen to now have 3 of em from an 850 lying around so easy to get any you need.

Here's another question for you. I noticed that the cylinders on the ones i bought had different diameters. By that I mean that the left port side ram and a larger diameter than the starboard side cylinder. Do your's look like that?

No, I do know that they're available in two sizes (I think 3/4" shaft ram and 1" shaft) but all of mine are the smaller. I'm not sure what the effects of having an unbalanced pair would be. the larger one presumably would need more volume of fluid to perform the task but I'd need to understand the valving system to say for sure.
