I have two questions. First, does anyone know if Cabelas PT35 Trim & Tilt and the CMC PT 35 are the same unit?? They look very similar and I know Cabelas partners with Manufacturers sometimes and puts the Cabelas label on the gear. Second, does anyone have any first hand experience with either of the units, specifically I was wondering what the weight limitation is for one of these units. I have purchased a 25HP 4-stroke Yamaha for a 15' Smokercraft. The weight of the motor is about 165lbs. I would like to add the power trim and Tilt as my father uses the boat a lot and has some trouble with the wieght when tilting the motor. Thanks in advance

chtah, I, have put 2 of the cmc 130 units on two separate boats, one of which is my own, a 18.5 Gregor with a 40 Johnson. The are the toughest and most well built units I have ever installed. Can't say enough good about the ease and reliability of them. nevjb

I think with the PT-35, your going to be a bit over the limit on weight. Looking at past years 2-stroke yamaha motors(And others), "35" HP's come in at about 130-140#. I can only assume they based the weight on that as being the maximum HP you should put on a PT-35.

Re: PT35 Trim & Tilt

I have the pt130 on my 85 h/p and I don't know how I did without it. I am reaching the age where lifting a motor is really hard sometimes. I bought my unit right here off iboats and got real quick delivery and was real surprised how well built they were. The picture doesn't do them justice. They are made a lot stronger then they look.I would get the 130 and that way if you every want to go up in h/p you won't have to repurchase another t/t ;)
