At the end of the day I pull up to an empty dock (and no one waiting to launch), and tie up my boat so that I can go and get my trailer. If when I return there is a line of people waiting to launch, do I wait in line or should I cut in front to get my boat out of the way quickly? This happened to me this weekend at a public launch and I really wasn't sure what the protocol was. It was a very nice launch with two ramps and room for 1 or 2 boats on each dock (depending on the tide).

I would wait in line. Happens all the time to me. Just luck of the draw....

I agree. Technically, you should be dropped off at the dock and the boat should back off until you return with the truck/trailer, obviously this does not work when you are boating solo.

If your boat was tied off far back enough for others to launch then waiting is appropriate.
