Well I had quite the search for my new "project boat" and have finally settled on a 1976 Starcraft Supersport with a 140 Mercruiser. Boat seems to be in really nice shape minus a dent on the port side of the boat, but I should be able to knock that back out. The floor and transom of the boat seem to be rock solid and all original. The original interior is in very nice shape. I bought it from a family that never used it after there father/grandfather past away a year ago. It runs great and I hope it turns out to be a good boat. Hopefully I made the right choice over a few of those old fiberglass boats I was looking to purchase. I plan on doing a resto but not sure if it will need it. I'd like to repaint it and shine it up some but the interior is in nice shape. What is your guys thoughts, did I get a good make and model of boat? They seem to be pretty popular on here.photo (11).JPGphoto (12).JPGphoto (13).JPGphoto (14).JPGphoto (15).JPG

i'd say you're right, Starcrafts seem to be by far the most popular make on this forum. ;)

nice boat. will do most anything you want to. sounds like you did your homework, and it does look to be in good shape.

welcome to the tinsanity. even on a good-condition boat, "Now the spending really begins...."

Clark thanks I'm pretty excited and yeah if I repaint it I'm going to keep the color scheme but maybe add a silver and black stripe underneath the orange.

Welcome to the #1 Starcraft forum in the universe. My boy just picked up an orange sample card from Ace Hardware. Really sweet color, kind of red and orange, he wants to paint the Offshore orange now. It was yellow last week. He just likes painting stuff (8 yo).

Thanks for all the good wishes guys. I will most likely just clean her up for the rest of the summer then do some work on her over the winter. Pretty happy with my decision on the Starcraft though. Can't wait to learn more about these boats and get all of your wonderfull advice.
