I was kind of worried yesterday reading a few threads on HP & pulling a wakeboarder. I only have a 85hp O/B. Well I can tell you one thing, I had no problems at all. Plenty of power, infact I had to back off the holeshot because it was ripping the rope handle out of his hands. So if anyone is wondering if their motor is enough, I can say 85 & up is good. Sure I could have used more power once he was up, the turns were a little tricky at first but that would be a driver correction to compensate for the lower HP. Just wanted to pass it along not to worry if your 85 or bigger.

Put a few people in the boat and see how it goes. I have a 115 HP and I can usually pull up a skier no problem however a few weeks ago with 5 adults and 2 kids It was work. I was able to do it but I wish I had a few more ponies under the cowl.

There were 2 other teenagers in the boat along with myself & yes I do agree, I could have used more HP as well. It was work to drive the boat correctly, but I kind of look at it this way: I'll be a much better driver when I get a real boat next year. Looking to get a 19' or 20' bowrider with I/O with a nice 5.0 engine or so. If I can handle a skier now with this combo, having a better boat will be much easier.
