pulling a 470 with o.e. charging system, installing 470 with alt upgrade, changes?

so we got a used 470 with the alternator upgrade, but no paperwork on woring changes. anyone here have the info? the alt is a one wire fire to battery, but no idea what might change on the harness to the old voltage regulator or old stator??

Don't know about wiring in your new alternator, but if the engine has not yet been installed, you may pull the harmonic balancer and remove the stator (if it is there), and you may remove all of the wires from the voltage regulator, they will not be needed. You can leave the voltage regulator in place.

the stator and external regulator are both no longer used and could/should be removed, the stator more so than the regulator. The magnets CAN (not will) fall off and jam the engine.

Cant really tell what was left or removed without looking at it. There are some aftermarket conversion kits on the market and some people make their own brackets and do the conversion themselves.

ok great. so is there a way i can get a wiring diagram specific to my boat and motor combo? i have posted asking if they make manuals for boats like cars but reply every time i ask

The only important manuals relate to your engine and drive. The repair manual doesn't care if your engine/drive is in a Bayliner, Searay, Boston Whaler or life raft
