I am a senior citzen that recently took up older outboard engines as a hobby. I built a nice shop and have sufficent tools and equipment. I would like to know if I remove the flywheel nut, is there a tool I can purchase to screw on where the flywheel nut was, which will allow me to pull a 1976 200 h.p Evinrude with a hydraulic car engine hoist? I would appreciate any and all information. Thank you!

This is the 2nd post on the same subject. That motor should have come with a lift eye right to the rear of the flywheel. I would check with your local boat dealer and get one to install. Easy add-on.

Thanks for your reply. I'm aware that this is where the "lift eye" is suppose to be, but it isn't! Also, I did do a search and I'm sorry nothing was posted that I could find. If it isn't too much trouble, let me know the date of the the previous post. Thanks again!

Thanks again,AJP for all your time looking all this up for me. I've ordered a "loop eye" which our local dealer said was the proper and safe way to lift the engine.
