1998 johnson 115 crossflow. 2 questions:

1. bought a harmonic balance puller to remove flywheel but the bolts do not thread correctly into the 3 holes on the flywheel. I think the thread spacing is too wide on the puller bolts. Does anyone know where i can get or what type the correct bolts are. All I can find is a parts number and it does not give bolt specs.

2. Looking for a lifting eye to pull the powerhead. Does anyone know of a source for these.

Big screw driver and bigger hammer. Put driver under head and pry on a corner of the block that looks meaty. Put nut on fly wheel and turn it so its going to protect the threads, and with one swift blow of the hammer it will pop of.They sell a dead blow nut for this purpose as well. I have use this way a 1000 times with no problems at all.
steve

The bolts that came with the harmonic balance puller are a different thread then what's in the three threaded holes in the flywheel. I can't remember what size holes are in the flywheel but I think they're either 5/16-18 or 5/16-24.
Your hardware or auto supply store will have the correct size and lenght. Get the best grade bolts they have.

c/6

Hooty
