My gear lube hose is leaking at the back of the gimbal so I'm in the process of pulling the gimbal off. Just want to make sure I'm not goobering something up, but I'm assuming I have to remove the shift cable to get the gimbal off, then pull the bellow off and go from there? If I'm going about it wrong please correct me, lol!

Are you sure you need to remove the gimbal and not just the bellhousing?

Ok yeah, I have my nomenclature wrong. Trying to pull the bell housing. All of the bellows, what hose and gear lube hose attach to the back. Don't see where I can replace the gear line without removing the bell housing.

You should be able to get by with just removing the bell housing and level the shift cable attached. I would be easier if the cable was detached, but you should be able to do it

I didn't disconnect when I did the alpha, but this is a Gen 2 so lets make sure I'm not speaking in error.

I don't see how I can get the bell housing off without disconnecting it at either end. And I don't see how I can fix the hose without pulling it at least partially away from the gimbal.

Ok so I went ahead with some experimenting. Disconnected the shift cable from the linkage on top the motor. That gave me enou room to pull the bell housing away. Sure enough the gear lube hose was dry rotted. New hose, new clamps, got the bellows all reattached and bell ha ousting bolted back on. Good to go! Will probably check the shift linkage measurements just to make sure that is all good to go too.

Next project is finding the power steering fluid leak.
