OK. I am back, and still not very smart when it comes to my boat. I got the carbs rebuilt and it now runs great.

Problem. As I am getting up to speed and even on a plane the boat pulls hard to the right. When I say hard, I mean it. Just pulled it out of the water three hours ago and my left forearm and hand are still sore. I have no idea how the steering components work. Hydraulic? Any help or advise would be appreciated.

1990 Ebbtide Dynatrak 181 STE
1990 Yamaha ProV 150 2 Stroke

You guys with the know how have been great.

Thanks

Adjust the stabilizer fin to the right. It will then make the engine steer more to the left.

Here in New South Wales, Australia we have a Waterways regulation that insists all outboards of more than 140hp have hydraulic steering. However I agree with ivar - try turning the AV stabiliser fin to the right (its tail-end to the right). Good luck.

After doing what was advised above you may also want to experiment with trim. If you are trimmed in too much (motor tucked in toward the boat) it pushes the bow down and may cause the boat to yaw one way or the other. Try trimming up some.
