1981 Campion Christina 180, Volvo 280, leg 14x23 aluminum prop behind a SBC 383 with 350+hp.
Just getting the engine broken in about 11 hours. When I take it up to 4000 rpm dead stable at 48 mph. When I get to 4100-4200 at 50 mph the boat wants to pull pretty hard to the right. Almost seems as if the prop may be slipping??? Any suggestions?

Ayuh,....
Does that Volvo have a Torque Tab on the plate over the prop like a Merc,..??

If so,... Try adjusting it......

Do you have P/Steering,..??

Btw,...
That sounds like Alotta motor, in a Little Bitty Boat,...

You might need a specialty Prop, or tabs to hold that thing down,+ manageable.....

Re: Pulls to right ....

It has a tab over the prop, but seems to be adjusted for anything under 50mph. No power steering.
I do have some good sized bennet trim tabs.
I have also have a duoprop lower that is having a new seal kit and input shaft bearing installed. I will be putting that on next week when it is ready. That may help.
It is a pretty good pusher for the size of the boat, but I have a problem leaving anything well enough alone :).
Any other suggestions or comments appreciated.
