pulse limiter 1989 Johnson 200

anyone know how to test the pulse limiter? got it out ... should you be able to blow air through it both ways? How does the internal valve work?

When the pressure is too great, as with a backfire, the valve closes.

If the pulse limiter is black, it should be replaced with blue and gold.

If the pulse limiter is fouled, it needs to be cleaned; isopropyl alcohol will do.

Normally, air will pass through both ways. When the air speed from the engine is too great, the valve will close.
