So I'm working on my" new to me " 86 150 Johnson, and I've got a problem. I can get it to start on a spray bottle of premix and it will run with the cold start lever up, but stalls out when I put the lever down. There doesn't seem to be very much fuel in the float bowls but the floats are the correct height. I took the fuel side of the vro pump apart and everything seems to be in good order in there. While I was in there I took the blue pulse valve out of the block to make sure it was clean and it was, but I could blow through it in both directions. Should I be able to do that? I put it all back to gether and ran the motor on spray with the fuel pump outlet disconnected with a hose going to jug to catch the fuel and to get some idea of what kind of flow rate the pump had.
There was no fuel being pumped out of the pump should I condemn the pump or the pulse valve or Is there some other condition that would prevent a pump from pumping?
