As I recall, there is no separarate part number for those. They come with the factory points and I don't remember them coming with aftermarket points. Since there are 2 sets of points on twins, each set of points comes with one which leaves one spare wick since you only need one on the mag plate. I used to toss the spare in my toolbox, but I haven't worked on a points motor in so long that I don't have anymore. But many mechanics probably do. You might be able to just ask for one from a shop. Otherwise you have to buy a set of points.

The aftermarket points come with a little capsule of grease instead of a new wick. You can just lube up the cam with that. Also, you can reoil the old wick with light machine oil. If the wick is really bad, in a pinch I've replaced it with some new heavy felt. I never got a good feeling from using just the grease.

You might try your local John/Rude dealer. They may have an extra wick laying around. The PN is 581011 and are still available from BRP. A wick from a later 9.9/15 (PN 581010) would work, I think. One of them was longer than the other, as memory serves... :)

I think you'll also find the wick in a tune up kit
which gives you 2 points and 2 condensers. It may be a better purchase.I don't have the kit number or price, but the wick alone is $3.16.

DHP

I got a yard of the heaviest felt they had at the sewing shop for $6. it's the same thickness and enough to make a few hundred with and still have half a yard to polish DVD's and stuff with
