I have no problem paying the dealer a profit. As you said its a business, and they expence the cost to keep the boat on hand.<br /><br />But I don't want to get screwed either. Car dealers are famous for telling you "That's below our cost" when in fact The price is WELL over their cost.<br /><br />I just want to get a "Fair" Price.<br /><br />-TheChad

the purpose of negotiations is coming to a fair and reasonable price for both parties. the dealer will make money. they have to, or there would be no reason for them to sell boats. it sounds like you have done your homework. if several dealers are selling the same package for the same price, that's the right number. you can try to squeeze a little out of them (maybe a free winterization and commissioning), but don't expect to get them to drop the price by a cold $3K.

FYI - The markup for accessories is often more than 100%.
