Purple Wire???

I have a 75hp chrysler 1974 and theres a purple wire Going from the terminal block on the engine to the key on the terminal block its marked Generator. Where do i hook that up too by the key switch? What exacltly does the purple wire do? Thanks again people<br /><br />Chris

Purple wire is the +12 volt from the key switch.

The red is 12volt+ from key switch. Purple dont go to key switch it goes to something else. What im trying to figure out.

This prob don't help but on OMC purple goes to the Tach

On my 1970 55hp Chrysler, the purple wire goes from the overheat detector on the head to the overheat light on the dash.
