I read the adult only section on the loss of WOT and have checked most of the items but - i'm confused. I have a 1999 express with 350 horizon mercruisers. The boat ran fine a few weeks ago. I went last weekend and the engines wouldnt go above 2000 rpm when they were in gear (usually run at 3100 and no problems getting to 4000 if I want to suck gas).

Out of gear no problem with rpms. The engines sound fine and I changed the fuel filters today but still no change. Both engines go to 2000 rpms fine and then they dont increase regardless of throttle position. The Flowmeter doesnt change either once they get up to 2000. It seems odd that both engines are acting the same at the exact same time. Any ideas why both would be doing the same thing? The gas is about 1-2 months old. Thanks.

Go with what is common to both engines. Do they both run off same tank. If so check from fuel line back to tank. Suspect antisiphon valve, fuel pickup tube, pick up screen or even a collapsed fuel line. Also are they carbed or injected. If injected do they have a high pressure pump that is common to both engines?

Well after lots of troubleshooting and parts replacing it's still not fixed. The mechanics ran it on clean gas but it still wont go to WOT. I have an engine synch on the 350 horizons could this be causing the problems electrically?
