putting up pictures

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and wondered if anyone can talk me through posting pictures on here? I am looking for the section to do this but I must be on the wrong page. and I thought ebay was hard, thank you in advance

The easiest way is to create an account on photobucket. then upload them to that site. resize to about 600x400 ish. Then save the new size. then open the new photo by clicking on the new thumbnail. on the left of the page you will see a box that has "IMG xxxx" copy this and past it in the area where you type on iboats, and your done.

You can also read the FAQ's section. but i never could get them to work the way it was explained in there.

The simple answer is take a low resolution 640x480 picture with the camera. If you have high res pictures than they need to be reduced in size or hosted on another site (photobucket).

If you take pictures that are 640 x 480 native in jpeg format you can upload them directly from your PC by pointing the upload button to your camera chip. Then they will appear like this:

Uploading pictures here or at any forum is pretty simple and easy.
there is no need at all that you have an account at photobucket or so.
you can upload the picture to any picture uploading site then add the link generated here in the forum and it will appear as you wanted it to appear

JD, go to the Non-Boating Technical Topics forum, just 2 above this Dockside Chat forum. Pinned at the top are 2 or 3 message strings that tell you all manner of picture posting techniques.

BoatBuoy: thank you, I am a real dumb --- on the computer, but have come a long way, and all the terminology that was given to me before your response,put me into outer space, just not use to the terms, I am sure everyone else was troubled when starting as well, so thank you for sharing something I could understand. I have picasa, so all the pictures I take go there, just was not sure how to find a browse section to add any. I think I am managing what I don't understand.....
