Most of the whales I have seen footage of have some serious scars from natural predators and while I would not like to see one hurt, even a cut from fibreglass ( are they fibreglass or plastic ) would probly be like a shaving cut.......I duno

We had a Humpback whale wash up on the beach here a year or so ago , raised all sorts of hell coz someone beat the local Maori's to the carcase and removed the jaw bone ....and some other bits .
Maori are supposed to be 1st in to recover such things for cultural reasons . Apparently the jaw bone is highly valued for carving as its quite long and straight.
