q-jet linkage issue

the linkage on the starboard side seems to be stopping throttle linkage. there is a spot where the secondaries will open, but when it warms up, it's like it goes too far and stops the travel again. I watched many times and cant figure it out.

It seems like it is there to keep the secondaries from opening on a cold motor.

Some jeep guys say to remove the part.

also I replaced the carb to intake gasket with one thicker than the one that came off for fear of sucking air.

anyone else had this problem?

thank you.

This is a MARINE carb right? if not no answer from a lot of ppl due to liability.

Pictures will help a lot, as there are several linkages on this carb.

The linkage for the secondaries is on the port side. There are usually linkages for the air valve on the starboard side.

Quadrajets should use a 1/2" thick base gasket..comes in the jiffy kits during a rebuild.
