QD-20 cam follower spring connections

HELP!

In working on my ignition components and cleaning up the carb, the spring for the cam follower cam off and I don't know where one end is supposed to connect.

I know one end goes on the cam follower itself, but I can't for the life of me figure out where the other end is supposed to go.

If you look under the brass support ring that holds the mag retainer ring, you'll see a hole in a small cast-in boss on the top of the crankcase. The other end of the spring goes though that hole.

I don't see anything, guess I'll have to pull off the armature plate

Oops! I was thinking of the 7.5. The 10 has the one end of the spring looped through an open hole in the armature support ring.
