First off, I think I figured out the connections for the control cables but I'm posting a pic of that area and tell me if I'm wrong but the mercury cable should just go over the threaded stud and is held on with a nut, I don't think there is any other connector or part needed, I should have pulled the gas line as I ran it straight to the pump to test run the motor so it is kinda in the way. Second, the serial number is illegible and need to know if there is a number anywhere else like stamped on the block or something, I can't see one but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place And last, I started the motor, it ran smooth but I saw no water coming out anyehere so after about 20 seconds I stopped it. Now on my Johnson 48spl it would start peeing in about 3 or 4 seconds. Anyone know if the force 70 hp is about the same? According to the place I got it from it all worked fine and of course I'm ordering a new impeller but just want to be sure I know what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the help

Re: question about 93 Force 70 hp

Do you find a data tag under the cowl about where the fuel line comes into the housing? In regards to the peeing, I have found that Force engines don't pee in the traditional sense. They'll spit from the relief holes that many mistake for a tell tale. You should be spitting water. Since you are not and it ran for 20 seconds, you probably need to drop the lower unit and check out the pump. If it wasnt damaged before, it probably is now but it's not too big of a deal even if you have never done it before.
