Question about Dinghy (sp?)

I would like to carry a dinghy or inflatable on the upper deck of my boat, sort of a OS option in case anything bad happens (crossing my fingers). I am already making the stencil for my bottom paint that will be in red and florescent yellow and reads "If you can read this call the Coast Guard". Have to have a little bit of humor and if I'm upside down, by all means a CG call is necessary.

Anyway, I would like to have folks feedback on Inflatables VS Small fiberglass Dinghy. I know it might seem like I'm getting a little ahead of myself on my resto project but I have an opportunity to get either dirt cheap and wanted some input. You all have been very gracious so far and I very much appreciate all the valuable input!

BTW, is anyone from my area? Olympic Peninsula/Port Angeles/Victoria BC?

Inflateable for me....the reason we have one is the safety factor of keeping afloat...and being able to tie her up to the mother boat while at anchor without need for fenders.....I just tie her up tight.

Re: Question about Dinghy (sp?)

Craigslist always works for me, My sister just got a trimaran project for $3000, and the damn thing floats. Needs lots of work, probably about 10K, but hey, a perfectly ocean going trimaran for 13K, not bad
