I just bought an old boat with a 1978 Evinrude 115. The engine runs fine, but yesterday while I was running it on the ears I noticed water pouring out of one of the two quarter size holes that are about half way down the back of the engine. Sorry I don't know exactly what they are called. I've ran the engine 5 or 6 tims previously, but I don't remember water exiting there.

I went ahead and took the boat out for about 30-45 minutes and it ran fine, but the water continued to come out of one of those holes. However, the lake was very choppy and the holes were sitting just above the water line, meaning they we getting water in them from the waves. It didn't seem like the constant stream that I was getting while I was running it on the ears.

Does this sound normal?

Thanks in advance or any help or advice.
