I happened to look under my PWC last night after riding Saturday and noticed a rub in the keel...about a foot long. It has rubbed through the gel coat and gray primer. The fiberglass has been exposed, but is very smooth. There are no leaks and does not feel soft. I am looking to repair this and would like to know how to do this process. I looked up Marine Tex and may coat it and paint over it or is there a better way without having to do major body work? I have been told just to paint it since the fiberglass is not damaged. What type of paint can I use and does it need to be primered first? I do not like to beach my boats and will invest in a keel guard after repair for extra protection. Thanks.
