I have heard from a couple of people that GWB doesn't even acknowledge that global warming is taking place?

Is this correct and can you provide evidence he believes this.

From what I have heard, he only disagrees on the cause, not that it is happening.

Specifically I heard Jim Hightower claim this (not a very credible source).

Ken

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Here is what I found:

Scientists are unsure about global warming
Q: What about global warming?
BUSH: It’s an issue that we need to take very seriously. I don’t think we know the solution to global warming yet and I don’t think we’ve got all the facts before we make decisions.

GORE: But I disagree that we don’t know the cause of global warming. I think that we do. It’s pollution, carbon dioxide and other chemicals that are even more potent. Look, the world’s temperatures going up, weather patterns are changing, storms are getting more violent and unpredictable. And what are we going to tell our children?

BUSH: Yeah, I agree. Some of the scientists, I believe, haven’t they been changing their opinion a little bit on global warming? There’s a lot of differing opinions and before we react I think it’s best to have the full accounting, full understanding of what’s taking place.

Source: Presidential Debate at Wake Forest University Oct 11, 2000

I think history tells us that it exists. And Liberals tell us that humans (especially in the US) are the cause of it.

Me personally? I think it warms up every summer and it aint my fault....

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Texoma, sounds like right there he acknowledged that he thinks it is happening.

So another liberal LIE has been shot to pieces.

BTW, they had Jim Hightower on the Armed Forces Network in Norway. Cant believe they would let that idiot on there. In his mini rant, he claimed that GWB wouldn't even acknowledge global warming existed despite evidence of polar ice melting.

Its warming up alright, but as to the cause...lets not debate that one again, its been beaten to death.

Ken

Global warming has historically preceded ice ages and happened several times before human population of the earth exceeded the current population of Mexico City.

Must have been those prehistoric creatures emitting too much methane.

Well then how about a pre-emptive strike with less than reliable information? Seems "W" may have pulled that a couple times before.....
Like Edgar Allan Poe's master sleuth, C. Auguste Dupin, said of the prefect of police...
I forget how to write it in french but...
"He has an uncanny knack for denying what is & explaining what isn't" ;) :) :p ....JK

Is Global warming a bad thing.
Last time I read anything about biology and the
origin of life, warm climate was a good thing.
Just think about all the plant growth that would
come about. And a boom in the construction
industry would be helpful in the bigger picture
over the next 100 years due to rising ocean levels.
Just think of all the positive benefits. I like
palm trees, and warm ocean beaches. If the temps
keep on the rise I may even sell my Ice auger. :D

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

1 large volcanic eruption spews more co2 directly into the upper atmosphere/ozone layer than man kind has created since the start of the industrial revolution. Can't remember the source, but I have read this on several occassions in the last few years. There are many other natural sources of co2 as well.
What humans create, is a very very very small % of that.

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

JB, The topic is "GW Bush & global warming"...
Speaking of weasels...
"W" uses the, WE(asels) don't know enough about global warming to act upon it...
READ: "I don't give a flip about global warming"
Y'all were whining about no rain down there...
The one thing that I can say is mother earth will survive global warming, with or without us!.....
I'm old enough that it will not affect me drastically in my lifetime.....
But my kids & grandkids will have to deal with it...So will yours...
For the record, I think that global warming is being created by the excessive hot air being generated by Texas & a specifically by a certain transplanted Texan....... :p
Deny what is & explain what isn't
;) .....JK

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

I think it's the moral duty of every liberal who thinks humans---and specifically American humans---are responsible for global warming because of our high-tech lifestyle to forsake all motorized transportation, to eschew heating and air conditioning, and to refrain from eating food produced on farms that are mechanized. Maybe they should reject modern medicine too, because it is in large part a product of EVIL CAPITALISM.

But, I don't realistically expect liberal hypocrites to meet the moral standards they want to set for everyone else, now, do I? ;)

Ohhhh...ya mean they don't really want to do away with all these things? Oh, I get it! They just want Algore to be president, then everyone will be happy shiny people holding hands.

What a bunch of bull****!
