question about hydrofoil???

I have an se 300 hydrofoil mounted to my boat can u mount a fish finder to it or dose it have to be mounted to my boat ..i am trying not to drill into my boat.
I am talking about the transducer. any help will help thxs.

Logically I'd say no. For one, I can't imagine it wouldn't mess with the dynamics of what the hydrofoil is trying to do. Also, the thing is going to vibrate like hell when you're moving. But most importantly, it's gonna be right smack in your prop wash, so you won't get any true reading at all. Get some 3M 4200 and attach it to the transom properly.

what is 3m 4200??? is that glue or something? i kinda thought that would be the answer but i was also looking for other ideas too so thank you very much.

3M makes and adhesive sealant in various levels of strength. 4200 Is rated for below water hull fittings and attachments, but can be removed. 5200 is also rated for below water fitting, but it's permanent. Drill all the necessary holes carefully in the transom, then fill the holes with the sealant before screwing in and fastening. I like to actually dip the screw in the 3M as well as fill the hole to be 100% sure. Take your time and it can be done cleanly. This will ensure you do not get water in the transom. Also, DO NOT USE SILICONE! It does not work anywhere on a boat, especially anything below water.

No you don't want to do that, it would kick up a bunch of water and probably wouldn't work right anyhow.

Drilling a boat can be kinda scary but a transducer is normally left on for a long time in the original location, if you seal it good there won't be any problems.
