Been on the boards mostly reading have a question I traded for a trim unit for my 86 40 Johnson. I did not know about the lower support bracket and it was not with the trade. What importance is it and does the trim unit need it..I figured on larger motors it would be important but not sure for smaller ones.this bracket is the one with twin cylinders. Not the single cylinder. Thanks if you can help..LeRoy

Look up the part on Shopevinrude.com and let us know exactly what you are describing and then post that part #

Re: Question about lower control trim bracket

It was put there for a reason by OMC and if it was my mtr I'd get one and install it. JMHO.
