I just put on a used 1995 mariner 115 motor on my alumicraft v170 boat. I don't know much about them, except there a 2 + 2 motor meaning they run on 2cylinders until 1800 rpm. WHat yrs did they make these and where the mercurys the same style. Are they good motors and dependable. I paid $2300 for it and i thought it was a good deal. THis is my second motor in a yr. THe first was a 1994 johnson 115 that i just smoked the motor. A piece of the piston fell off and scared the piston. I'm hoping this mercury will be a good motor for me, i'm getting sick of spending money on used motors but i can't afford $8000 for a new one. THis is $4300 in just a yr for two motors. Is there any place to pick up a owners maual for the mariner. Thanks for the help.
