Question about outdrive anodes

Does anyone know if the stock Mercruiser Alpha One outdrive comes stock with magnesium or zinc anodes? Ill be running in saltwater/brackish (sp) for the next couple years in the gulf.

Yes they do. Or at least mine did. they accually have about 5 of them in various places. look into your motor manual and it will show you the locations.

Do you know what mineral from which they are made?

I am pretty sure they come with zinc

I am looking in my manual right now. There are two systems.
1THE mercathode system and the quick selver anti corrosion anode kit.
I have anodes in the folloeing places
Gearcase anodic plate
Centilatoin plate gimbal mounted
Trim cylinder anodes and anodes in the berring carrier.
They are all zinc and should be replaced when over 50% consumed.
