So. I decided to start a new thread to get some answers. I posted this question on my current thread but didn't get any answers.

Please help!

After the restoration of my outdrive (please click on my link below in my signature for more details) I started cleaning up the garage and realized I forgot to put the "Fill Wall" back into the drive. Is this important or can I leave it out? What exactly does it do?

Also, since I had my drive apart I took the opportunity to replace the impeller and I did order all new gaskets and seals. So, my other question was there were two gaskets in each package (one gasket package that goes under the face plate and one gasket package that goes on top) am I supposed to use both gaskets (double up) or will just one of each suffice? I didn't know if I was just lucky and received two gaskets in each package (bonus)...

Needless to say I only used one of each gasket and forgot to reinstall the fill wall. Please let me know if I need to pull the drive apart and add these additional parts!

if you mean the plastic block plate, it should be in there to keep the exaust away from the pump.

BT Doc already answered. Yes, it needs to be their or it wouldn't have been installed to begin with.

Got it about the fill wall... What about doubling up on the gaskets?

If you paid somebody, wouldn't you want them to do it right?

What about doubling up on the gaskets?

I remember reading this somewhere.

Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time,
But always enough time to do it again?
