Question about water pump water

What should the temp be on the water coming out of the pump? Mine seems warmer than expected. I am sure the pump was replace a few years back.

temp should be slightly warmer than the water temp going in. It shouldn't burn you but, it is warm (145 degrees is the proper temp for the thermostat to open)

Technically the temp. in and out of the pump is the same as it hasn't gone up the leg to your motor yet. The temp. after the motor depends on what motor you have. My 4hp (no thermostat) runs very cool but motors with a thermostat usually run approx. 140 F. as that is the temp the stat opens at. If your sure the impeller was changed a few years ago it is time to change it again. They should be done about every two years. Best of luck. Rick.

What engine do you have?
"warmer than expected" ? what does that even mean?
What is "a few years" ?

It's going to take a lot more information for anyone to help you.

Full info on the motor and as much history as possible will make this much easier.

6 HP evinrude. It means it was hotter than I thought it might be. I bet it is close to 140 degrees. Probably changed 2-3 years ago.

Well if it's getting that warm it must have a stat. The unscientific way to test for overheat is to hold your hand on the engine just above the head. If you can leave it there for a three count your good. Your impeller is at the end of it's life though. Rick.
