Question about WOT RPM 76 70HP

Greetings,

I was told a while back on the board that the prescribed RPM for this engine (model 70673D) is 5800-6000 RPM for max life. I noticed on the transom bracket that it says "operating range 4500-5000 RPM." So, I just wanted to make sure that it's OK to still set it up for 5800-6000 and assuming so, what is the reason for setting it up beyond the manufacturer's recommendation from that time period? 5000 does seem low to me, too.

Thanks for clarification!
