Question about Yamaha Parts

Hey fellas. I was thinking about purchasing an '88 Yamaha 40hp. It seems that not as many sites sell Yamaha parts, and I can not find ANY aftermarket companies that sell Yammie parts. SO my question is this, are there any aftermarked Yamaha parts available? If not it would seem that parts for these motors are pretty pricey. Thanks fellas.

What parts are you looking for?
Your basic maintenance parts are readily available here at Iboats, and elsewhere.

Well Roger, apparently Yamaha only offered power trim for their 40hps for a slim window of time. I am concerned that if I buy the model I am looking at, I will have a hard or expensive journey repairing and maintaining the trim bracket/cylinders.

I guess I am concerned that I cannot find a power trim rebuild kit online. Seems as if I have to buy all parts separately which is costly, but I am new to the power trim world so I don't really know.....

About the only trim part you are going to buy aftermarket for any engine will be the electric motor. There is a few places that sell rebuilt units.

Cool man thanks. What typically goes bad in a trim cylinder? Is it just the o-rings?
