Question for all those that voted for Kerry

Hey guys, all those that voted for Kerry knew he was going to raise taxes. And they didnt mind.<br /><br />I remember all the Hollywood weirdos saying they knew their taxes were going up.<br /><br />My question is, did you decide to donate to the US treasury the amount your taxes were going to go up? I believe there is a box on the tax form specifically for this.<br /><br />Wonder if those Hollywood supporters paid extra???<br /><br />Ken

I have to ask, Boomie.<br /><br />Do you think the EITC is why we are running half trillion dollar deficits?<br /><br />I think if there were a box on the 1040 form that said something to the effect "Prepayment of future taxes by designated heir due to the irresponsible tax policy and budget management of the current administration" you might well get some takers.

Certainly not entirely but it contributes. I would be interested to know exactly how much is paid out annually in EITC's.<br /><br />That being said, it is not the providence of the US government to take money from me and give it to you and yours.

No, it's only one of many. Social Spending is over 50% of the budget. I forget the exact figure at the moment.

Well, Boomie, we have a long history of using the specific tax codes to promote one behavior over another.<br /><br />I don't want my tax dollars to subsidize Exxon to find oil deposits, only to gouge me later for their successes.<br /><br />I don't want my money to subsidize your home purchase.<br /><br />We can go on and on about inequties in the tax code, but it is what it is.<br /><br />The reality is that under a booming economy under Clinton, we were able to generate surpluses, and now I'm told we have a booming economy, full employment, and yet we have 1/2 trillion dollar deficits. Something is wrong...<br /><br />And please don't tell me we are in a war. Those costs are not even calculated in this.
