You stated a couple weeks ago that you could not use log style manifolds for thur hull exhaust becouse they had a downturn outlet off the riser and that Center Risers come out striaght towards the back. I am just asking why that makes a differnce. What i have seen from Mooreperformance.com on their under the swim deck style, they turn out then down then turn out the back. Why could one not come off the down turn riser then turn again towards the back to go thur the hull. I am not questoning your no how but curious if this could be done with out buying new manifolds. Thanks

Re: Question for Bondo?

I/O applications 99% of the time wont have room for this... Inboards would be different, but why?.... you want the least resistance in the exhaust, 2 90* bends adds a lot of resistance = power loss

from transom to end of manifold i would estimate you would need at least a ft to do this properly... which you would be hard pressed to find in an I/O

Also, you would be running the exhuast underwater at this point, which means you would need to meet vertical rise specs to stop water backflushing into the exhaust

Re: Question for Bondo?

Ok i see. This is what i am looking for, answers. Is it posible to bolt a center riser onto a log style manifold? Also if it were to end up underwater then you need the 13" min (rise) center to center mesurment to keep from flooding the engine. Is this right?

AFAIK no such part exists

Also if it were to end up underwater then you need the 13" min (rise) center to center mesurment to keep from flooding the engine

sounds about right, im not sure of the exact measurement...

Ayuh,... It appears Legoman has answered your questions,...

The Space needed just Ain't there...
'n Yes, you need 13" from the bottom of the riser, to the water level outside the boat...

Re: Question for Bondo?

Ok thanks fella's. Well i guess i need to look around for some center riser manifolds to make it work right. My son wanted to know if this was posible and now we know the in's and out's. We are going to restore the boat this spring and summer. Will post Pic's of the project. Coming soon!
